Travel the World Through Food (2): Korean BBQ Beef
Updated: Sep 8, 2022
With a versatile recipe such as Korean barbecue beef that has been altered and modified so much over time, it’s rather hard to define which version is “authentic”. At Back to Grills, we whip up a variation similar to Seoul style beef bulgogi.

Thin strips of beef are marinated in a mix of gochujang (Korean red pepper paste), soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, vinegar, sambal olek, and other seasonings. The meat is grilled in a rational oven before it is stir-fried with vegetables such as carrots and cabbage.
Our chefs finish it off with a generous pinch of toasted sesame seeds, fried garlic, and chopped spring onions.
The dish comes together as a healthy, flavorful meal when served on a bed of cabbage leaves, with garlic green beans and kimchi rice on the side.
